Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Engineer to ensure that our systems, processes, and products comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. The Compliance Engineer works closely with notified bodies, engineering, security, legal, and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain product compliance while supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Expected Base Pay Range: $102,000 to $116,000 Annualized
The base pay range included is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed. Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Engineer to ensure that our systems, processes, and products comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. The Compliance Engineer works closely with notified bodies, engineering, security, legal, and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain product compliance while supporting audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain compliance controls aligned with regulatory standards and frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate compliance requirements into system architecture, development, and deployment processes.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and gap analyses to identify potential regulatory or security risks.
- Manages the certification process, including issuing, renewing, and tracking certificates and declarations of conformity.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers, external partners, and certification bodies to ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, including technical files, risk assessments, and Declarations of Conformity (DoC).
- Monitor systems and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, evidence, and reports.
- Work with security and DevOps teams to implement automated compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide guidance and training to engineering and operations teams on compliance-related topics.
- Investigate compliance incidents and recommend remediation actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in compliance, security engineering, risk management, or related roles.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as CE, RED, FCC, ANATEL etc
- Proven experience in cybersecurity standards, regulations, and compliance processes
- Strong technical background in hardware and/or software engineering, with understanding of secure design principles.
- Experience in managing cybersecurity or safety certification projects for hardware and software products.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements for product safety, cybersecurity and data protection.
- Familiarity with technical documentation, including risk assessments, technical files, and Declarations of Conformity.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and emerging threats.
- Experience with global certification processes and procedures
- Knowledge of EMC, radio and safety critical certifications
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and governance frameworks.
- Expertise in material disclosure, REACH, and RoHS
