Vice President of Accounting - Property Management

A highly respected and growing property management firm is seeking an experienced Vice President of Accounting to lead and oversee its accounting operations. This executive-level role will provide strategic financial leadership and ensure operational excellence across a third-party managed portfolio.Position Overview:The Vice President of Accounting will be responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of the accounting department. This individual will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and team development while serving as a key strategic partner to executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong third-party property management experience and a proven ability to manage large, multi-entity portfolios.Key Responsibilities:• Provide executive leadership over all accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, and cash management• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes• Ensure accurate and timely owner reporting across a third-party portfolio• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes• Partner closely with operations, asset management, and executive leadership to support portfolio performance• Manage audits, tax coordination, and regulatory reporting requirements• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and efficiencies• Recruit, develop, and mentor accounting leadership and staffQualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)• 10 years of progressive accounting leadership experience• Significant third-party property management experience required• Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity reporting structures• Experience with property management accounting platforms such as Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar systems• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing accounting teams• Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skillsThis is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a strategic and hands-on accounting executive looking to join a well-known and growing property management organization.

Salary : $225,000 - $300,000
