Job Overview
We are actively hiring an experienced Fire Alarm Technician for a long-term contract-to-hire opportunity in Indianapolis. This role offers the chance to transition into a permanent position based on performance.
You’ll be working on commercial and industrial systems, currently using Potter with a transition to Siemens platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm systems (wire pulling, conduit, device mounting, panel programming)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system drawings
- Perform inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot false alarms, ground faults, and system issues
- Repair and replace faulty components and wiring
- Document service work, deficiencies, and corrective actions
- Maintain tools, equipment, and job documentation
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
- Ensure all work meets code and safety standards
Qualifications
- 5 years of fire alarm installation/service experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills in commercial fire alarm systems
- Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools (multimeters, programmers)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable using mobile devices and scheduling systems
Preferred
- NICET II Fire Alarm Certification (or higher)
- Experience with sprinkler, extinguisher, or special hazard systems
Requirements
- Valid Indiana Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Professional, reliable, and safety-focused
