We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Residential Garage Door Sales Representative to grow our homeowner market. This role is responsible for prospecting and securing new residential garage door sales through direct outreach, inbound leads, and in-home consultations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced sales environment, demonstrates exceptional communication skills, and enjoys building trust-based relationships with homeowners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate new business by contacting homeowners directly through cold calling, door-to-door canvassing, social media engagement, and inbound inquiries.
- Conduct in-home consultations to assess homeowner needs, measure openings, and provide accurate recommendations and present customized sales quotes, financing options, and proposals to prospective clients.
- Follow up on pending quotes and leads in a timely, professional manner to maximize close rates.
- Maintain accurate records of all leads, contacts, proposals, and sales activities in the company’s CRM system.
- Coordinate with operations and installation teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from sale to completion.
- Maintain current knowledge of product lines, pricing, warranties, and installation processes.
- Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
- Meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven ability in direct-to-consumer (B2C) sales, preferably in home improvement, building products, or related industries.
- Strong cold calling experience with a demonstrated record of converting leads into closed sales.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM platforms.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a disciplined sales schedule.
- Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for in-home appointments.
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service orientation.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally to transport sample products or materials.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of outside sales experience; experience in residential home improvement preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured personal transportation required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Willingness to travel locally within assigned service area.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This role operates in both office and field settings, including home visits and outdoor environments. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
