Project Coordinator – Preconstruction & Operations Support (Heavy Civil) | Atlanta, GA
Support preconstruction and field operations for a growing, family-owned civil contractor. This role focuses on job setup, data tracking, and coordination across estimating and operations, playing a key part in keeping projects organized and moving without being responsible for full takeoffs or bidding.

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate bid requests and track incoming work from initial request through follow-up
- Manage and maintain project data in SmartSheets and shared folders, ensuring accuracy for job setup, billing, change orders, and job status
- Assist with job setup including permits, purchase orders (QuickBooks), and billing support for engineered plans
- Communicate with clients, municipalities, and internal teams to respond to questions, comments, and updates
- Track and follow up on certifications, compaction letters, and required project documentation
- Support QC checklist processes and keep leadership informed of project status and issues
- Help improve internal processes and keep day-to-day operations organized and on track
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience in construction, project coordination, estimating support, or similar role
- Basic understanding of construction processes or land development workflows
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks without things slipping through the cracks
- Comfortable working in spreadsheets (Excel or similar tools like SmartSheets) and willing to learn systems like QuickBooks
- Clear, professional communication skills with clients, internal teams, and municipalities
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Pay & Benefits
- $65K–$75K base salary, depending on experience
