Position Overview:
This second-shift role is responsible for supporting manufacturing and engineering operations by optimizing production processes, improving equipment performance, and contributing to overall plant efficiency. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician works closely with cross-functional teams to enhance quality, safety, and throughput in a dynamic industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and support day-to-day manufacturing operations by troubleshooting equipment, processes, and production issues
- Assist in the development, implementation, and refinement of manufacturing methods, tooling, and workflows
- Gather and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma activities
- Participate in root cause analysis and help implement corrective and preventive actions for quality or process concerns
- Create and maintain documentation such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process records
- Provide technical support for equipment installation, upgrades, and maintenance efforts
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Assist with capital equipment projects, including evaluation, setup, and validation
- Conduct time studies, process capability assessments, and other performance evaluations
- Maintain accurate records related to testing, calibration, and process performance metrics
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or production support environment, preferably within heavy industrial operations
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Familiarity with ERP systems, CAD/CAM software, and standard office applications
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
- Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $75,000 - $80,000
