Duties
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques to ensure both pet and staff safety during grooming procedures
- Assess each dog’s coat condition and skin health, providing recommendations for ongoing pet care or veterinary consultation if needed
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming station, including proper sanitation of tools and work areas to promote animal health and safety
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences, provide pet care advice, and address any special needs or concerns
- Assist with pet handling during grooming appointments, ensuring gentle yet secure restraint to minimize stress for the animals
- Support other team members with tasks such as pet sitting, kennel cleaning, or basic veterinary assistance when required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of dog handling techniques and animal restraint methods
- Background in animal care fields such as veterinary assistant experience or kennel work enhances your ability to provide exceptional service
- Familiarity with dog training principles and heavy lifting capabilities for handling larger breeds or assisting with pet movement
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
- Demonstrated animal handling skills across various species including dogs and equines is a plus
