Personal Care Specialist

Top Care Support is looking to build a comprehensive support team for an awesome young man, Travis, in the Whitehouse Station Area. The ideal candidates for his team are creative, driven, experienced, and engaging. We are looking for candidates that want to create an immersive experience that creates space for Travis to be seen, heard, and validated.

Location: Whitehouse Station, New Jersey
Hours: Flexible (Full-time or Part-time Available)
Compensation: Competitive Pay Benefits (For Full-Time 30 Hours)

Basic Requirements:

• Is at least 18 years of age
• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be willing to have a background check
• Must be willing to undergo a drug screening
• Must be authorized to legally work in the United States
• Must have a reliable vehicle
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
• Current CPR/First Aid certification

Meal Prep Support—Keto Based: Do you have a passion for cooking and meal preparation?

Responsibilities:

• Plan and prepare meals that adhere to ketogenic dietary guidelines, Knowledge of ketogenic diet principles and nutrition preferred.
• Source and select high-quality, keto-friendly ingredients.
• Measure and portion meals accurately to meet dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
• Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with family to customize meal plans based on their preferences and goals.
• Keep track of inventory and manage supplies efficiently.

Community Connections & Engagement: Are you a social butterfly that likes to be out and about? Can you create connections to the community based on interests? Are you a friendly person that can help bridge social interactions, promoting inclusion?

Responsibilities:

· “Bring the Party to Him”

· Engage Travis in his preferred activities and outings, while creating opportunities to explore new interests. Travis likes listening to music, spending time outdoors in the fresh air, connecting with others, going to the park, and visiting local community places where everybody knows his name. (be prepared to keep up as Travis can be a bit of a track star in his walker, zooming around town).

· A Love for Dogs, Travis would like to volunteer with and get back into training dogs. This can start with a visit to the dog park, maybe opening an LLC to start dog walking, volunteering at a local school for dogs or giving back at the local shelter (or maybe all these things!)

· Engaging in religious/spiritual activities—as Travis would like to find a church home and have someone who shares this passion and dedication to God. Sunday service? Yes! Bible study? Let’s go!

· Navigate the community and make connections that build the bridge to a more active presence in the community

Care: Are you someone who thinks the little details matter the most?Are you driven to help others look and feel their best? Do you have a genuine passion for helping others?

Responsibilities:

Travis is diagnosed with a developmental disability and uses adaptive equipment to support mobility needs. Travis requires gentle, hands-on-care to complete all aspects of his personal care: hygiene routines, toileting, feeding, dressing, safe transitions and support. The person in the role of care provider needs to have great attention to detail, patience, strength, and a commitment to dignity. This person must also be a fantastic communicator, as you need to constantly and consistently communicate with Travis regarding the support being provided. This person should also be someone who can create a good rapport and be able to anticipate needs before they are communicated.
