Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Top Care Support is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in Hunterdon County to provide one-on-one support to adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and community inclusion while helping individuals achieve their personal goals and enjoy meaningful experiences.

Responsibilities

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide respectful, person-centered support and assist individuals in living fulfilling, independent lives. Responsibilities include:

• Providing support based on individualized service plans
• Assisting with activities of daily living, including personal care, dressing, bathing, grooming, and hygiene as needed
• Accompanying individuals to recreational activities, community outings, and social events
• Transporting individuals to appointments, errands, and community-based activities
• Preparing meals and providing feeding assistance when necessary
• Monitoring health, safety, and overall well-being and reporting concerns promptly
• Completing accurate daily documentation and service notes
• Maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations and company policies
• Encouraging independence, self-advocacy, and community engagement

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate:

• Is at least 18 years of age
• Has a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Has a genuine passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
• Is dependable, compassionate, and professional
• Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Holds a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Has reliable transportation and is willing to use a personal vehicle for transporting individuals when needed
• Is legally authorized to work in the United States
• Is willing to undergo a background check and drug screening
• Has current CPR/First Aid certification or is willing to obtain certification
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing

• Monday-Friday 9am-1pm
