SUMMARY: The Information Technology (I.T.) Director is a collaborative, hands-on technical leader who builds strong cross functional relationships and aligns I.T. strategy with over-arching Company and Department goals. The Company depends on the I.T. Director as the subject matter expert (SME) in Microsoft cloud technologies and enabling secure, scalable enterprise-level I.T. environments. This leader balances technical depth with mentoring and elevating the I.T. Support Team. They apply a forward-looking approach to enabling automation and artificial intelligence (AI) tools, while prioritizing compliance with CMMC security requirements and technology enablement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the I.T. department, including staff development, team workload management, and performance oversight.
  • Lead enterprise-wide implementation and administration of Microsoft Azure services, including infrastructure, platform services, governance, and cost optimization.
  • Direct Intune Endpoint Management and compliance enforcement across all company devices.
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID, including single sign-on, multifactor authentication, conditional access, and role-based access control.
  • Oversee vulnerability management, security information and event management (SIEM) monitoring, incident response coordination, and penetration testing engagements.
  • Ensure the company’s I.T. policies, processes, and controls align with CMMC Level 2 requirements and maintain compliance readiness for government contracts.
  • Manage enterprise I.T. infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, networking, and storage systems.
  • Establish governance for SharePoint information architecture, lifecycle management, and RBAC group structures.
  • Implement sensitivity labels, retention policies, and DLP controls to protect CUI and other regulated data.
  • Drive metadata-driven organization and automation workflows to support compliance and improve knowledge management.
  • Position SharePoint as the single source of truth for enterprise policies, SOPs, and compliance documentation, with integration into Teams for collaboration.
  • Oversee enterprise resource planning (ERP), database, and SaaS application administration in coordination with applicable business owners.
  • Conduct product rationalization reviews for technical fit, cost effectiveness, and licensing efficiency prior to renewals.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives that streamline I.T. operations and improve service delivery.
  • Enable technical automation and artificial intelligence tools to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and enable data-driven decision making.
  • Develop and enforce I.T. policies, procedures, and security best practices.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to the CIO and executive team, aligning I.T. strategy with business priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and I.T. budget for hardware, software, and services.
  • Ensure reliable backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning across environments.
  • Lead adoption and ongoing maturity of the company’s Zero Trust security model, ensuring identity, device, and data protection are aligned with industry’s best practices.
  • Partner with the CIO on initiatives including process automation, AI integration, and data-driven decision making.
  • Advance IT maturity through strategic projects that enhance efficiency, compliance, and resilience.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have proven leadership experience in managing enterprise I.T. teams and resources.
  • Must possess expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of security frameworks, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Must be familiar with hybrid cloud and on-premises environments and integration.
  • Must have experience driving process improvements and implementing automation and AI technologies.
  • Must possess excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able to maintain a high attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ability to work independently while leading teams and fostering a positive attitude.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
  • Must be able to work cohesively with internal and external customers.
  • Must be proficient in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to all levels of the organization.
  • Must demonstrate safe and healthy workplace practices.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to travel within the US and internationally.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and not be barred from any installation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive I.T. leadership or management experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate or Endpoint Administrator Associate (Intune/Entra) preferred.
  • CompTIA Security or CISSP preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Information Technology Director must be eligible to work in ITAR-controlled environments. They must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time working at a computer and be able to listen and speak clearly on the telephone. They are also required to occasionally stand, bend, kneel, crouch and walk safely in a warehouse environment. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
