Johnson & Wales University seeks a dedicated and experienced faculty member to join its Physician Assistant (PA) Program. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver current, relevant curriculum using diverse teaching methods and standardized instructional tools.
- Measure and evaluate student understanding and performance objectively.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, academic achievement, and performance per university policies and accreditation requirements.
- Provide students with an approved syllabus for each course, including objectives, texts, evaluation criteria, and attendance policies.
- Hold and maintain regular office hours for student consultation.
- Advise students and refer them to university resources for financial, career, or academic guidance.
- Monitor student progress and provide remediation or counseling when needed.
- Assist with updating program handbooks and other official documentation.
- Participate in curriculum design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation in compliance with ARC-PA and university requirements.
- Attend faculty meetings, department meetings, orientations, training programs, and committee meetings.
- Serve on assigned committees and participate in student orientation, admissions events, open houses, and professional conferences.
- Support extracurricular activities that advance the PA Program and profession.
- Participate in student admissions and selection processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with university and program policies.
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a terminal degree (MD, DO, or PharmD).
- Clinical experience as a PA, physician, or pharmacist.
- Current NCCPA certification, board certification (MD/DO), or pharmacist certification.
- Valid PA, physician, or pharmacist license for the State of Rhode Island or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Experience in cardiology or related clinical specialization.
