Information & Referral Specialist - Community Outreach (Disability & Senior Services)
Location: San Francisco, CA | Schedule: Full-time, In-Person | Pay: $24-$28/hr DOE
Toolworks is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Information & Referral Specialist to support our Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) team. This is more than just a job; it's a chance to help individuals with disabilities and older adults access the essential services they need to live independently and thrive in their communities.
In this full-time, in-person role, you'll be based at our San Francisco headquarters with regular travel throughout the Bay Area for community outreach, events, and client visits. As part of a mission-driven nonprofit, you'll play a vital role in providing information, direct referrals, and follow-up support to individuals seeking services such as adult day care, housing, financial aid, transportation, and health care resources.
Your days will be varied and impactful. You may start the morning helping a client fill out a housing application, spend the afternoon at a senior center conducting outreach, and wrap up with data entry or administrative support back at the office. You'll also greet visitors, assist with front desk operations, and provide general tech and communication support as part of our inclusive and welcoming environment.
We're looking for someone with at least two years of experience working with adults with disabilities, ideally in a community-based setting. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, as is comfort working with diverse populations. Bilingual abilities in American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, or Cantonese are highly desirable.
