What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Machining Quotation Engineer position at Toolcraft Machining?
Your Mission Own the end-to-end quoting process for complex, low-volume CNC parts at our Germantown, WI site—turning specifications into efficient, cost-justified manufacturing plans that help us win work and deliver flawlessly. What You'll Tackle Develop accurate cost estimates for CNC milling and turning, including labor, materials, and outside services.Evaluate drawings and specifications to select optimal methods, tooling, and sequences; apply GD&T and DFM principles.Quote parts across materials, from castings and forgings to super alloys (Monel, Inconel, Titanium).Create and refine process documentation, work instructions, and ERP routings; coordinate seamless hand-offs to production.Collaborate with product design on new product and fixture estimates; validate manufacturability with CAD/CAM.Support sales negotiations and help close business; conduct post-quote cost analyses to drive process improvements. What You Bring CNC machining background in milling and turning; 5-axis familiarity is a plus.CAD/CAM fluency—Mastercam and Solidworks preferred—and 3D modeling experience.Strong blueprint reading, GD&T, and shop math capabilities.Experience in manufacturing environments, with process development and product design exposure.Comfort with documentation, basic data analysis, and ERP tools.High School diploma or GED.Values that match ours: Be Authentic, Do the Right Thing, show Grit, and practice Humility.
