Tony’s Market Job Description

Job summary: 

Responsible for helping our catering and market teams by staying organized, serving customers, and keeping products looking their best.  Work with the Prepared Foods Buyer and experienced team members, completing office tasks and hands-on work in Tony’s Market locations.

Summary of essential job functions:

• Support Prepared Foods Chef / Buyer and Lead Buyer in R&D, development, new items, systems and admin as needed in the following departments…Deli, Bakery Catering Cheese, Charcuterie and Gift Baskets.
• Help as needed in commissary kitchen, store operations or gift baskes.
• Lead/assist the Gift Basket production team.
• Help set up seasonal displays, promotions, product launches, and holiday programs.
• Cut, wrap, label, and merchandise cheese and specialty foods after training.
• Help with product demonstrations and sampling events, including setup, customer interaction, and cleanup.
• Help review catering and holiday orders for basic details such as dates, pickup or delivery information, quantities, and special requests.
• Enter and update information in our catering system and other systems after training.
• Contact customers with order confirmations, simple questions, updates, and approved substitutions.
• Share order details with catering managers, store teams, and commissary production staff.
• Maintain simple spreadsheets, customer notes, order records, and task lists.
• Check catering supplies and packaging, and tell a manager when items are running low.
• Help process store replenishment requests and communicate product needs to the commissary.
• Field general questions about webcart ordering, meat bundles, and other questions about the stores.
• Complete other reasonable duties as assigned
• Predictable and timely attendance.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow through in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to resolve concerns professionally and work collaboratively with customers and employees.
• Proficient computer skills using Word, Excel, Outlook, and order-management systems. CaterTrax experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Prepared Foods, Catering, Deli, Bakery, Cheese, Charcuterie, merchandising, or foodservice operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to travel between Tony’s Market locations, the office, and the commissary. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
