The Vehicle Detailing & Reconditioning Specialist is responsible for cleaning, restoring, protecting, and preparing vehicles to meet Tony Group's high standards for quality and appearance. This position performs interior and exterior detailing, basic vehicle reconditioning, minor paint correction, window tint removal, and ceramic coating application.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete all required detailing and safety training and follow proper procedures for chemicals, tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect vehicles and identify interior and exterior imperfections, including scratches, stains, oxidation, water spots, fallout, paint defects, and other areas requiring attention.
- Perform basic exterior detailing and reconditioning services, including:
- Fallout removal.
- Water-spot removal.
- Surface decontamination.
- Light polishing and restoration.
- Perform basic interior detailing and reconditioning services, including:
- Cleaning of upholstery, carpets, plastics, and other interior surfaces.
- Application of interior dressings and protectants.
- Removal of minor stains, buildup, and debris.
- Safely remove automotive window tint and adhesive residue using approved tools and procedures.
- Properly prepare vehicle surfaces and apply Quantum Ceramic Coating according to product specifications and company standards.
- Perform minor paint correction to reduce light scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and other minor paint imperfections.
- Safely operate car-wash, detailing, polishing, and reconditioning equipment.
- Maintain detailing tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Complete a final quality-control inspection before releasing each vehicle to ensure it meets Tony Group standards.
- Immediately report vehicle damage, safety concerns, equipment problems, or services outside the employee's training or skill level to management.
- Follow all Tony Group safety policies, procedures, and dealership standards.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Service, Reconditioning, and other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous automotive detailing, car-wash, reconditioning, or dealership experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate car-wash and automotive detailing equipment.
- Basic knowledge of automotive paint, interior materials, cleaning chemicals, detailing products, and reconditioning processes.
- Ability to identify vehicle imperfections and determine the appropriate corrective service within the employee's level of training.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality work.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dealership environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe and professional workplace.
- Willingness and ability to complete all required safety, product, equipment, and operational training.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and meet Tony Group's driving requirements if operating company or guest vehicles.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in and around vehicles.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull detailing supplies, tools, and equipment safely.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements associated with washing, polishing, cleaning, and detailing vehicles.
- Ability to work in wet, hot, humid, and outdoor conditions as required.
- Ability to safely handle automotive cleaning and detailing chemicals while using required personal protective equipment.
- Ability to enter, exit, and maneuver around various types and sizes of vehicles safely.
Work Environment
This position regularly works in automotive detailing, car-wash, and dealership environments and may be exposed to water, cleaning chemicals, vehicle exhaust, noise, heat, humidity, and changing outdoor weather conditions. Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
