A CNC cell flags an intermittent fault: you trace it inside the electrical control panel, perform live diagnostics under Arc Flash protocols, and pinpoint the issue with precision instruments. By midday, you’ve updated ladder logic, documented the change with a clean electrical drawing and PLC program file, and coordinated air and data drops for a new installation. In the afternoon, you verify a contractor’s repair on a high-use machine, then meet with engineering to scope a controls upgrade that will make the line more reliable.What you will ownChampion safety, follow work instructions, and set the standard for a safe work environment for yourself and teammates.Lead repair and preventive maintenance for production assets—both electrical and mechanical.Partner closely with Plant Maintenance to schedule, resource, and execute jobs and projects.Support engineering on special machine initiatives and production-related improvements.Service CNC and PLC-controlled equipment; troubleshoot within electrical control panels.Perform live electrical work as an Arc Flash–certified professional.Use precision measuring instruments while diagnosing issues.Read and apply schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications.Monitor, modify, and write programmable ladder logic for existing and new installations.Create and maintain electrical drawings and PLC programs to aid troubleshooting after modifications.Install electrical, pneumatic (air), and data drops for machines and auxiliary equipment.Coordinate with outside contractors for machine repairs and verify repair quality and accuracy.Design and implement electrical circuits and controls that elevate equipment performance and reliability.Provide technical direction and establish best practices for the maintenance group.Other duties as assigned to support production reliability and uptime.What you bringAssociate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.10 years in equipment maintenance, ideally within CNC manufacturing environments.Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams.High attention to detail; delivers accurate work on schedule.Background with CNC and PLC-controlled machinery.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Skilled at interpreting manuals, drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.Excellent time management; able to prioritize and pivot throughout the day.Clear written and verbal communication in English.ProficienciesYou should be proficient in:CNC ToolingCNC Machine RepairTroubleshooting CNC MachinesEqual OpportunityTOMZ is an Equal Opportunity Employer
