About the Role

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to support a fast-growing, private-equity-backed organization undergoing significant scale, system upgrades, and acquisition activity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building processes, and wants to grow into broader finance and operational responsibilities as the business expands.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting, acquisition integration, and ongoing systems and automation initiatives. This is a high-visibility role with direct interaction across operations, FP&A, corporate leadership, and the PE sponsor.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting (40%)

  • Lead and assist with the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, dashboards, and management reporting packages.
  • Support consolidation activities across multiple sites, subsidiaries, and legal entities.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analytics (20%)

  • Assist in annual budget development and periodic forecast updates.
  • Partner with operations, sales, and finance leadership to understand key drivers and build scalable budgeting processes.
  • Perform deep-dive financial analyses to explain trends, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision making.

Acquisition Support & Modeling (20%)

  • Support acquisition financial modeling, including quality of earnings review, pro forma modeling, and scenario analysis.
  • Assist with onboarding newly acquired entities, chart of accounts mapping, and data migration.
  • Partner with leadership on post-close integration plans, financial reporting, and systems alignment.

Systems & Integrations (20%)

  • Serve as a power user in NetSuite, supporting general ledger, fixed assets, AP/AR, revenue, and reporting modules.
  • Participate in system optimization efforts to increase automation, accuracy, and speed.
  • Support integrations between NetSuite and third-party systems (TRUX, Paychex/Insperity/Paylocity, banking platforms, CRM, etc.).
  • Assist with the implementation of new tools, data connectors, and automations across the finance tech stack.

Operational & Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with operations to ensure accurate cost allocations, inventory or materials reporting, and project/contract tracking.
  • Partner with leaders across the business to enhance reporting visibility and align financial processes with operating needs.
  • Support ad-hoc strategic initiatives, board reporting, and PE-driven special projects.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a private equity, multi-location, or growth-stage environment.
  • Strong proficiency with NetSuite (or similar ERP).
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, financial statements, and month-end close.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, modeling concepts).
  • Experience with financial modeling.
  • High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and a builder’s mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data tools (Power BI, SQL, ETL, Celigo, etc.).
  • Experience with acquisitions and integrations.
  • Exposure to recycling, manufacturing, distribution, waste management, or services industry accounting.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA (preferred but not required).
  • Experience creating dashboards, operational KPIs, or multi-site financial reporting.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work directly with the executive team and PE sponsor.
  • Significant ownership of core processes and exposure to acquisitions from day one.
  • Fast-paced, high-growth environment with room for advancement.
