We’re looking for a Tax Manager who is not only technically strong, but also communicates well, collaborates effectively with others, and naturally builds trust with both clients and our team.
Position Overview:
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff, including keeping the team current on tax law changes and guiding how those changes are applied and communicated to clients
- Serve as a main point of contact and advisor for clients
- Review complex individual, business, partnership, and trust tax returns
- Handle tax research and resolve complex issues
- Ensure compliance with federal and Hawaiʻi tax laws
- Manage workflow, deadlines, and quality control
- Review and adjust client books and workpapers; coordinate with bookkeeping to ensure accurate, tax-ready financials
Qualifications:
- 3 years tax experience
- CPA or EA (or actively working toward certification)
- Strong knowledge of federal Hawaiʻi tax
- Experience with complex returns and tax planning
- Organized, reliable, and client-focused
- Experience with UltraTax CS preferred
Work Hours:
- Generally, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime during busy season or projects as needed
Compensation:
- Salary: $80,000 - $100,000, including tax season and year-end bonuses
