INTRODUCTION

The Custom Engineering Specialist at ISAT will support the Custom Engineering Group by providing specialized engineering services, technical support, and high-quality project deliverables. This role requires a deep understanding of seismic bracing, building codes, and engineering software. Training and resources will be provided to help the specialist become proficient in ISAT’s practices and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

• Gain expertise in ISAT’s Seismic engineering scopes and procedures.
• Prepare custom engineering packages, calculations, and comprehensive project documents.
• Develop knowledge of relevant building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ASME B31, and others.
• Become proficient in engineering software such as RISA-3D, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, EnerCALC, and Mathcad and REVIT.
• Use 3D CAD software to create drawings and extract dimensions for custom engineering details.
• Create detailed technical specifications and drawings for engineering components.
• Provide technical support to customers and sales staff, acting as a project manager for engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with project managers and sales teams to address scope and technical issues.
• Assist in generating quotes and maintaining accurate document control records.
• Conduct job site visits to understand project requirements and gather information.
• Support the development and improvement of technical support systems.
• Obtain and apply for PE licenses in additional states as needed.
• Support and promote ISAT Core values on a consistent basis (Customer Service, Quality, Teamwork, Innovation & Accountability).

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of seismic bracing systems and building codes.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or two years’ experience in engineering (civil/structural preferred).

• Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD and Revit).

• Ability to read and understand construction plans.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and clients.

• Ability to perform calculations, prepare technical specifications, and create CAD drawings.

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or willingness to pursue licensing in other states
