Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, interview, train, coach, and develop Grocery Department associates.
- Schedule and direct department personnel to effectively meet operational needs.
- Provide performance coaching, recognition, and corrective action when appropriate.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence.
- Support succession planning and associate development initiatives.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions and concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming department environment.
- Promote customer loyalty through positive interactions and service recovery.
- Oversee daily Grocery Department operations, including stocking, replenishment, merchandising, and inventory management.
- Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional areas are fully stocked and properly presented.
- Monitor inventory levels and order products to maintain in-stock conditions.
- Coordinate product movement and replenishment activities to maximize sales opportunities.
- Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and promotional execution.
- Execute company merchandising plans and seasonal programs.
- Maintain department presentation standards and product quality.
- Analyze sales reports and identify opportunities to improve department performance.
- Develop action plans to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
- Monitor product trends and customer buying patterns.
- Manage department labor, expenses, shrink, and inventory levels.
- Monitor departmental financial results and key performance indicators.
- Take proactive measures to improve productivity and profitability.
- Ensure effective inventory control practices are followed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, and operational standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment for associates and customers.
- Support loss prevention and shrink reduction initiatives.
- Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of grocery operations, merchandising, inventory management, and labor planning.
- Ability to interpret sales and financial reports.
