About the Role
A private members club in Toledo is seeking a Culinary Operations Lead to oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure consistent, high-quality food for members. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a talented cook who enjoys structure, training others, and maintaining reliable systems. It is not a traditional chef position. The role focuses on steady execution, operational clarity, and supporting a scratch-made, approachable menu.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and food safety
  • Execute and help refine a scratch-focused menu that fits a members-only environment
  • Develop and maintain recipes, prep lists, and production systems
  • Cook and support service during operating hours
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory with attention to freshness, accuracy, and cost control
  • Reduce waste and maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Train and mentor cooks to ensure consistency and professionalism
  • Collaborate with front-of-house teams to align service with events and programming
  • Support menu costing and vendor relationships, including local suppliers

Who You Are

  • A strong cook with experience preparing food from scratch
  • Organized and reliable, with experience in ordering, inventory, or kitchen systems
  • Skilled at training and supporting cooks
  • Calm under pressure and comfortable in a dynamic environment
  • Committed to cleanliness, consistency, and teamwork

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a small kitchen or multi-use venue
  • Exposure to menu development or recipe refinement
  • Familiarity with cost controls and communication with vendors
  • Interest in collaborating with local producers
