Role Summary
The Promotions & Special Events Intern supports the planning and hands-on execution of theme nights, in-venue promotions, and special events across Mud Hens, Walleye, and Hensville properties (including concerts, community events, festivals, and ballpark activations). This seasonal internship provides real-time experience in event operations and fan engagement, partnering with the Special Events team to help develop run-of-show timelines, coordinate logistics with internal departments and external vendors, and deliver memorable experiences on game and event days.
Essential Responsibilities
The Promotions & Special Events Intern supports the planning and hands-on execution of theme nights, in-venue promotions, and special events across Mud Hens, Walleye, and Hensville properties (including concerts, community events, festivals, and ballpark activations). This seasonal internship provides real-time experience in event operations and fan engagement, partnering with the Special Events team to help develop run-of-show timelines, coordinate logistics with internal departments and external vendors, and deliver memorable experiences on game and event days.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support planning and execution of theme nights, ballpark activations, and special events across Mud Hens, Walleye, and Hensville properties (concerts, community events, festivals, youth programs, etc.).
- Assist with event run-of-show development (timelines, scripts, cue sheets) and help coordinate in-game and on-site entertainment elements (contests, promotions, video board features, on-field/on-ice moments).
- Coordinate event logistics in partnership with internal departments and external vendors/talent (permits, load-in/load-out, credentials, equipment, signage, talent needs, and onsite staffing).
- Execute game day and event day operations, including set-up/tear-down of promotional items and props, assisting with fan engagement stations, and ensuring theme elements are delivered as planned.
- Must currently be a college student pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree in Sport Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality and/or a recent college graduate in one of the related fields.
- Must be available to work Mud Hens home games, Walleye home games, and Hensville events as needed. May include weekends and holidays.
- Weekly hours 25-30 per week-dependent on game schedule. (20% Office; 80% Game/Events)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to follow timelines, checklists, and run-of-show documents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, execute multiple tasks at once, and adapt quickly to changes on event days.
- Ability to think quickly and make sound decisions when changes arise on event days.
- Ability to carry out detailed written/oral/diagram form instructions.
- Occasionally lifting promotional items and props needed, weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, etc. for the duration of the shift.
- Game days will be outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
