Overview
This position will play an integral role in the accounting for key business areas, account reconciliations and income statement variance analysis to produce timely and accurate financial statements for a growing publicly traded company (NASDAQ: STKS). We are looking for an individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to grow their career with our company.
Responsibilities
- Directly and/or indirectly supervise a team of 1-4 accountants and play a key role in managing our business process outsourcing firm.
- Responsible for key areas of the month-end close process, including the review and preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Main point of contact for all P&L questions from restaurant operators.
- Identify and recommend business process improvements to automate manual processes and accelerate the month-end close process.
- Execute work in accordance with SOX compliance for accounting functions and update SOX documentation for areas of responsibility.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA recommended.
- 4 years of accounting experience required.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Public accounting experience preferred. Big 4 a plus.
- Strong General Accounting skills and GAAP knowledge with experience in month end close.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel required.
- Can prioritize workload and perform multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Candidates must have excellent communication skills (oral and written), the ability to interact with all levels of management through the organization and the initiative to get the job done.
