About The Role

We are seeking a Senior SDET to architect, design and build a comprehensive automated regression, performance and security testing framework for our backend systems. This role requires deep technical expertise, particularly in networking and a drive to improve quality and reliability at scale.

This is a senior-level, cross-functional position ideal for someone who can think holistically, act autonomously and build from the ground up. The ideal candidate is passionate about test automation, thrives in cross-functional environments and is driven to build systems that minimize manual effort and enable teams to scale efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and execute test plans for networking software and hardware components.
• Implement automated test systems covering regression, performance and security.
• Collaborate with QA, SRE and engineering teams to define test strategies and integrate into CI/CD pipelines.
• Validate distributed systems consisting of Linux-based appliances, services and APIs.
• Conduct performance, scalability and security testing across complex networked environments.
• Simulate real-world traffic and inject faults to test reliability under various conditions.
• Identify, document and track bugs or performance issues, ensuring high system quality.
  
  

Requirements:

• 10 years of proven experience in software quality assurance, with deep expertise in quality processes, tools, and metrics, including the development of testing strategies from the ground up
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, including architecture design, development, and scripting.
• Experience working in Agile development environments using software build tools, CI/CD integrations, deployment process and code quality checking tools
• Strong networking fundamentals and deep understanding of protocols like TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Experience designing test frameworks and automation infrastructure from scratch.
• Proficient in reviewing and interpreting PCAP files using tools like Wireshark or tcpdump.
• Hands-on with network testing tools such as iperf, curl, mtr and Wireshark.
• Experience developing and executing test plans for network software/hardware systems.
• Proven track record in Linux system administration and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Comfortable working with REST/gRPC APIs and debugging network interactions.
  
  

Nice to Have:

• Experience in data center environments with server hardware/software installation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with proxy testing (HTTP/HTTPS), firewall testing and VPNs.
• Experience with Docker and virtualization/containerization technologies.
• Exposure to BGP, encryption and certificate-based security setups.
• Proficiency in mocking/simulating APIs and reverse engineering interfaces.
• Familiarity with RDBMS systems and their interaction with backend services.
  
  

Comp: $155,000 – $185,000 Depending on experience background and skillset

Compensation Range: $155K - $185K
