Todd & Sargent is hiring an Accounting Manager to be the quarterback for all things accounting at T&S. This is managerial role will report to our CFO and own the core accounting functions, lead a capable team, and keep raising the bar on how well-documented and consistently executed our processes are.
Our accounting team isn't a back office — it's the group that keeps our projects financially sound and our people paid accurately and on time, across both our U.S. and Canada operations. We design, engineer, and build industrial facilities, and accounting is central to getting every project built on time and on budget. If you're energized by clean close cycles, repeatable processes, and developing the people around you, this is a role you can own and grow into.
What you'll do
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting department — AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger — making sure everything runs accurately and on time
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
- Manage office payroll and oversee U.S. field and Canada payroll, plus administration of U.S. and Canada benefit programs
- Coordinate external audits and keep us compliant with accounting standards and legal requirements
- Deliver financial analysis and reporting that give the CFO and our project teams real insight
- Maintain corporate, contractor, and engineering registrations and licenses
- Serve as a super-user for our accounting software and the go-to for financial reporting across departments
- Continually evaluate our accounting processes and systems — and improve them
Who you'll lead
You'll lead and develop a team that includes an Accounts Payable Specialist, a Field Payroll Specialist, and a Senior Accountant. You'll set clear expectations, coach to performance, and build a strong bench.
What we're looking for
- 3 years of accounting experience — whether you're an experienced manager or a senior accountant ready to take the next step
- A degree in accounting (4-year, or 2-year with equivalent experience)
- A strong command of core accounting processes: payroll, benefits, close, AP/AR, and general ledger
- Someone who champions documented processes and consistent execution, and looks for ways to make them better
- A leader who leads by example and brings a genuine service mindset to the team
- Construction or industry experience is a plus, but not required
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
