Duties
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times through vigilant supervision and adherence to safety protocols
- Implement developmental programs tailored to individual needs, including toddler care, infant care, and preschool activities
- Provide first aid when necessary, responding promptly to minor injuries or health concerns
- Support children with disabilities by adapting activities and environments to meet their specific needs
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding daily progress, behavior, and any concerns
- Assist with classroom organization, activity planning, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and connect with children and families
- Ability to handle the physical demands of childcare work, including lifting infants or toddlers and active movement throughout the day
