Role Description As a Behavioral Health Technician at To the Moon ABA Therapy, you will deliver 1:1, home-based and center-based ABA services to children and young adults in Springfield, VA. In this full-time, on-site role, you will implement individualized behavior intervention plans, collect accurate data on behaviors and skill development, and use ABA strategies such as Natural Environment Teaching under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Specialist. You will help clients improve communication, social interaction, self-help, and adaptive living skills while teaching alternative behaviors to replace challenging behaviors. Daily responsibilities include following treatment protocols, participating in team meetings and training, communicating progress and concerns to supervisors, and maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for clients and their families. You will collaborate closely with clinical supervisors and families to promote the generalization and maintenance of newly learned skills in the home and community or in the center
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in behavior-focused disciplines, including Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis, with the ability to follow behavior intervention plans consistently.
- Knowledge or coursework in Psychology and related behavioral health fields, demonstrating an understanding of developmental and learning differences.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear, professional interaction with clients, families, and supervisors, and accurate documentation of sessions and progress.
- Experience or training in Behavioral Intervention, such as implementing reinforcement strategies, de-escalation techniques, and skill acquisition programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
- Interest in obtaining or maintaining Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification; prior RBT certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in client homes in the Northerb Virginia area, including reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally.
- Patience, reliability, and a commitment to supporting neurodivergent individuals in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner.
