At TNA Fleet Services, we’re looking for an experienced Class 8 Diesel Fleet Mechanic who is ready to transition into an office-based role while remaining a key part of every repair. Your hands-on mechanical experience isn’t just preferred—it’s essential. You’ll rely on the knowledge you’ve gained in the shop to accurately estimate repairs, identify the correct replacement parts, and source those parts from multiple vendors to keep our customers’ fleets moving.
What You’ll Do
- As our Parts & Estimates Specialist, you’ll serve as the technical expert supporting our field technicians and customers by using your mechanical knowledge to:
- · Prepare accurate labor and repair estimates based on your understanding of Class 8 truck and trailer systems.
- · Identify and source the correct OEM and aftermarket parts from a wide network of manufacturers and vendors.
- · Evaluate multiple supplier options to ensure the best combination of quality, availability, and cost.
- · Work closely with technicians to confirm repair needs and ensure estimates reflect the scope of work required.
- · Communicate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and timely delivery of parts.
- · Verify incoming shipments and purchase orders for accuracy.
- · Learn and utilize fleet management, estimating, and parts catalog software to support daily operations.
Required:
- Previous hands-on experience as a Class 8 Diesel Mechanic, Fleet Mechanic, Heavy-Duty Truck Technician, or Trailer Mechanic.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer systems, including engines, drivetrains, suspensions, brakes, steering, electrical, air systems, and trailers.
- Ability to accurately diagnose repair needs and translate that knowledge into complete labor and parts estimates.
- Experience identifying and sourcing heavy-duty truck and trailer parts through multiple manufacturers and vendors.
- Comfortable learning and using computer-based estimating, inventory, and fleet management systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to ordering the right parts the first time.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
