Position Title: OpenShift Engineer
Location: Onsite –Phoenix, AZ/ Southlake, TX/ Austin, TX
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and deploy enterprise OpenShift environments from the ground up.
- Architect and implement scalable Kubernetes platforms and container orchestration solutions.
- Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Red Hat OpenShift clusters in enterprise environments.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD integration for containerized applications.
- Configure cluster networking, storage, security, monitoring, logging, and access management.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Work closely with DevOps, Cloud, Security, and Application teams to support containerized workloads.
- Monitor cluster health, performance, scalability, and availability.
- Perform platform upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and disaster recovery activities.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, container, and orchestration-related issues.
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and deployment standards.
- Participate in design discussions and provide technical recommendations for platform improvements.
- Ensure platform security and compliance best practices are followed.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift engineering and administration.
- Strong experience building OpenShift environments from scratch in enterprise environments.
- 3–5 years of hands-on Kubernetes experience building clusters and orchestration platforms from scratch.
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift installation, configuration, and cluster management.
- Experience with Linux system administration.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, ingress, routing, and firewalls.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience working in cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Must possess a professional, collaborative, and proactive attitude.
