Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Venue Transport to lead the planning and delivery of a world-class transportation operation for a major international sporting event. This is a fast-paced and dynamic leadership role, ideal for professionals with a passion for large-scale event transport operations.
As a pivotal member of the transport leadership team, you will oversee the implementation of Venue Transport Operations at a specific site, ensuring operational excellence through comprehensive planning, testing, and readiness programs. Your work will be critical to building and validating preparedness, enabling seamless transport operations that meet the highest international event standards.

Key responsibilities
- Transport Planning & Delivery –Develop and implement the Venue Transport Operational Plan (VTOP) to ensure safe, efficient, and timely movement of the different Client Groups.
- Operational Management –Oversee all transport operations during event days, including public transport connections, shuttle services, parking, taxi/rideshare areas, and accessible transport.
- Stakeholder Coordination –Liaise with government agencies, transport operators, traffic management contractors, security, and venue management to ensure integrated planning.
- Staff & Contractor Oversight –Recruit, train, roster, and manage transport staff, including supervisors and ground staff, ensuring adherence to service standards.
- Customer Experience –Ensure a positive journey for all guests by maintaining clear signage, efficient loading/unloading areas, and professional staff interactions.
- Contingency & Incident Management –Prepare contingency plans for delays, weather events, or disruptions, and coordinate real-time responses during incidents.
- Monitoring & Reporting –Track operational performance using transport management systems, prepare post-event reports, and recommend improvements.
- Safety & Compliance –Ensure all operations meet relevant transport regulations, health and safety requirements, and venue-specific policies.
- Liaise with – the Senior Transport Manager, the Transport Operations Centre (TROC),security, and LATMP/VAPP teams
- Lead and attend meetings - always representing TMS with the highest standard. Ensure timely response to all communications and maintain all documentation in company files and folders and sharing key documentation as required
- Flexibility in working hours – no two days are the same. Be willing to work flexible and extended hours throughout the event period
- Strong understanding of Venue transport operations, multi-modal transport systems and crowd flow management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills in high-pressure, time-critical environments.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities.
- Familiarity with client group protocols, and event-time traffic management.
- Confident in team leadership, on-the-ground supervision, and real-time decision-making
- High-level problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Knowledge of transport-related safety, compliance, and risk management requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and briefings.
- Minimum 5 – 10 Years Progressive responsibilities and work-related experience, and any combination of education and training, which provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Proven experience managing transport operations in a venue, stadium, festival, or major international event environment.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering passenger transport solutions.
- Experience managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including contractors and volunteers.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Transport Management, Logistics, Event Management, or related field (desirable but not essential).
- Understanding of accessible transport needs and inclusive service delivery.
- Valid driver’s license and relevant transport or traffic management certifications (desirable but not essential).
