WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE

As a Designer on this engagement, you’ll help bring a pro beauty brand to life through polished, modern design across social, digital, retail, and e-commerce. Reporting to the Creative Director, you’ll collaborate with copy, production, and marketing partners to turn briefs into clean, on-brand assets—balancing speed, consistency, and high craft. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves design systems and details, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants their work to show up every day across major platforms and retailers.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION

Design Execution & Brand Consistency

  • Design and produce high-quality creative for the client across campaigns, launches, and always-on needs—working from established direction and brand guidelines
  • Translate briefs into clear, compelling layouts and compositions with strong attention to typography, hierarchy, and brand consistency
  • Build and maintain reusable templates and modular systems that help the team scale output efficiently (toolkits, social templates, retail/e-comm modules)
  • Support brand consistency by organizing and updating design files, libraries, and guidelines as needed

Social/Digital-First, E-commerce & Retail Creative

  • Design social-first creative (organic and paid), including templates, asset variations, story formats, and short-form video design needs (titles, supers, end cards, thumbnails)
  • Create e-commerce and retailer-ready assets (PDP modules, banners, comparison visuals, feature callouts, and education) that meet specifications and support conversion
  • Handle versioning and adaptations across formats, aspect ratios, and retailer requirements while maintaining consistency and quality
  • Incorporate feedback quickly and accurately, with strong file hygiene and attention to detail across rounds

Production Support & Asset Delivery

  • Partner with production and creative teammates to support shoots and content creation by preparing design comps, reference layouts, and asset needs (as applicable)
  • Ensure files are production-ready and delivered correctly across channels (export specs, naming conventions, packaging files, version control)
  • Support post-production needs by designing graphics for video/motion deliverables (titles, supers, end cards) and preparing handoff files for editors/motion designers as needed

Process, Quality & Best Practices

  • Maintain high design standards across deliverables: typography, layout, composition, color, and brand consistency, with strong attention to detail
  • Work efficiently within review/approval workflows—incorporating feedback while protecting core creative intent and meeting deadlines
  • Prepare production-ready files and collaborate with production/ops partners to ensure specs are met across social, e-commerce, retail, and print as needed
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by building reusable templates, systems, and best practices that help the team deliver faster without sacrificing quality

Client & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner day-to-day with the Creative Director to deliver on-brand, high-performing creative across brand priorities
  • Collaborate with marketing, social, e-commerce, product, and sales partners to understand objectives and translate them into creative that meets channel requirements
  • Ensure visual consistency across touchpoints by aligning design, imagery, and messaging systems across campaigns, social, retail, and e-commerce

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • 3 years of professional design experience in-house or at an agency, ideally supporting consumer brands (beauty, grooming, or pro salon a plus)
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong design craft across social-first content, paid social assets, e-commerce/retail creative, and campaign toolkits
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and working knowledge of Figma; comfort designing for multiple formats and specs
  • Strong typography, layout, and composition skills with excellent attention to detail and file hygiene
  • Understanding of digital and social best practices (platform-native creative, iterative production, versioning, and testing/learning)
  • Experience designing for e-commerce and retail environments (PDP modules, retailer specs, feature/benefit callouts), with a conversion-minded sensibility
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, incorporate feedback efficiently, and deliver polished work on deadline
  • Strong collaboration skills—able to work closely with creative, production, and marketing partners in a fast-paced environment

And we’d love you to… Have experience designing within beauty/grooming—ideally with pro, salon, or stylist-led brands—and a strong understanding of how to bring product benefits to life visually.

  • Be comfortable working in high-volume, digital-first workflows—building templates, creating variations, and designing for social, paid media, and e-commerce/retail specs.

Any of the following would be a plus

  • Experience in the pro beauty space (salon, education, trade, or stylist community marketing), including designing education/how-to assets and product technique storytelling
  • Comfort using modular e-commerce systems across multiple retailers (including Amazon), plus an interest in learning new tools and workflows

Starting hourly between $65-$75
