Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced clinical judgment.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients across a broad spectrum of conditions, including acute pain management, chronic disease management, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
- Administer medications and injections such as botulinum toxin treatments, dermal fillers, and IV infusions while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Perform specialized procedures including suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, phlebotomy, and sterile processing techniques.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medication administration, diagnostic evaluations, and medical records management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as ICU, emergency room, trauma centers (Level I & II), hospice & palliative care units, and outpatient clinics to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Engage in clinical research projects or quality improvement initiatives to advance evidence-based practices within the organization.
Experience
- Valid APRN license with current certification in advanced practice nursing; experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly valued.
- Demonstrated expertise in various specialties such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, family practice, geriatrics, or behavioral health.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with Athenahealth or similar platforms is a plus.
- Hands-on experience performing procedures such as IV insertions, suturing, airway management including ventilator use, and catheterization.
- Critical care experience in ICU or trauma center environments; familiarity with Level I & II trauma center protocols preferred.
- Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Experience working within hospital medicine settings or outpatient clinics; telehealth experience is advantageous.
