Quality Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products produced, assembled, and packaged within our manufacturing facility meet customer specifications and TMF Quality standards. He/she is also responsible for overseeing all Quality related activities and supervising the Quality Control Inspectors.
General Responsibilities and Duties:
Production
- Communicating with production lead personnel the following:
- 3-4 Highest risk jobs currently running
- Defect awareness
- Product samples – approved and rejected
- Highlight any special instructions or procedures
Leadership
- Must maintain Quality production for all shifts
- Drive ongoing training with production operators and QC Inspectors
- Promote safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the facility
- ISO certification and document control experience
In Process Inspections
- Make final decisions with pass/fail criteria
- Must be the internal voice of the customer
- Create physical samples and visual aids to assist with in process inspections
- Ensure QC Inspectors are following procedures by documenting in process inspections and data as required to ensure product is meeting specifications
- Program the CMM for start-up and in process inspection dimensions
- Train QA Inspectors on CMM operation and running established programs
- Documentation
Retention
- Maintain an organized and controlled document retention area for:
- Inspection sheets – Min of 3 years
- Material Certifications – Min of 5 years (US Shipments)
- Material Certifications – Min of 7 years (Non-US Shipments)
Work Instructions
- Create and maintain formal work instructions for production, packaging and quality control functions throughout the facility
- Production Job Packets
- Create job packets for all new products
Control Plans
- In process inspection sheets
- Product attribute sheets
- Work Instructions
- Quality Alerts (as required)
Quality Manual
- Maintain and update as required
- Train QC Inspectors to ensure adherence
- Equipment Calibration
- Maintain a tracking system for calibration due dates
- Ensure all equipment is kept up to date or retire as needed
Incoming Product Quality
- Ensure procedures are adhered to by QC Inspectors when reviewing and approving incoming materials from suppliers
Customer and Supplier Interaction
- Must respond to customer inquiries and/or complaints in a timely manner
- Follow through to completion to ensure customer satisfaction
- Proactively ascertain information on all new jobs to ensure product quality meets customer specifications when product is released to production
- Responsible for supplier audits to ensure existing and new suppliers comply to TMF standards
Customer – New Product Approval Submissions
- Responsible for submitting all new products for customer approval
- Ensure proper formats are used as dictated by the customer
- Retain sample approvals
Required Skills:
Excellent Leadership Skills
Must be an effective communicator
Bi-Lingual preferred
- Solid computer knowledge
- MS Excel, Word, Outlook
Good Knowledge and understanding of measuring tools
- Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gage, Weight Scale, Vision Systems, CMM (Preferred)
Previous Manufacturing Experience a must – Plastic Injection Molding Preferred
Education:
High School Diploma Required
10 years of experience
College Degree in Business/Engineering or Related discipline preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
