Purchasing/ Buyer Administrator
We are an Employee-Owned Company and we take pride in our Product and our services. We are looking for entry level experience purchasing associate. We ask for at least (1) year in excel experience. Will be responsible for managing the procurement of products and services for the business. Serves as the liaison between the company and suppliers. Maintains inventory levels and assists in shipping and receiving products and materials in the warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Request and track pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), container sizing, and other necessary information for raw materials from suppliers and manufacturers
- Evaluate vendors and suppliers based on price, quality, and availability to minimize raw material costs while effectively sourcing quality ingredients
- Create and process purchase orders in Quick Books System and submit to respective suppliers
- Maintain product price sheet and update as needed
- Collaborate with logistics companies and freight lines to minimize freight/transport costs while still accumulating all necessary ingredients for production in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively and on recurring basis with production management, quality, and other departments for effective flow of information and proactive problem solving
- Coordinate, monitor and analyze inventory and create reports to assist with planning
- Create reports for purchasing control
- Adhere to all guidelines as specified by company policies
- Processing and updating Fishbowl
Requirements
- At least 2-3 years of similar work experience within a manufacturing environment
- Must be a team player with a willingness to learn, positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with desktop applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, ERP systems, etc.)
- Detail oriented, excellent project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and operate in a constantly changing environment in order to deliver results
- Excellent negotiation skills with ability to create valuable and enduring relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Computerized Spreadsheets Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Working knowledge of Quick Books and Fishbowl is a plus
- Able to Push, Pull and Lift up to 30 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
