Title: Psychiatrist (Independent Contractor)
Program(s) and Location: New Direction (Sacramento, CA)
Schedule: 8 hours per week
Pay rate: $200 hourly
Benefits: No benefits offered as contractor
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (includes the following; other duties may be assigned)
- Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations for diagnosing, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications as indicated.
- Provide ongoing medication support including prescribing, education and informed consent, medication monitoring, and developing positive Provider-Patient treatment alliances.
- CA DOJ – CURES monitoring for clients on controlled medications.
- 5150 – pre-evaluation
- Reference Treatment Guidelines as outlined in County algorithms provided.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic records and clinical documentation standards to ensure Medi-Cal, Medicare and County Compliance. (Monitored monthly by Program Director)
- Productivity Expectations 80%-(Monitored monthly by Program Director)
- Peer support: attend monthly staff meetings and/or quarterly provider meetings.
- Collaborate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team for the development and delivery of
Education and/or Experience:
- Two year Residency or Fellowship in Psychiatry
- Active Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) prescribing license
- Medicare qualified and PESCO classification
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- This contract requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain, during the life of the contract, a policy of professional liability insurance with policy limits of not less than $1,000,000 per claim and $3,000,000 in the annual aggregate.
Additionally, the Contractor will also carry Workers' Compensation Insurance in accordance with the Workers' Compensation laws of the State of California and Employer’s Liability Insurance with policy limits of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence.
Other Skills, Abilities, and Job Requirements:
- Ability to pass clearance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and/or Department of Justice (DOJ) background screenings.
- Work overtime as requested and approved.
