Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Friday STEM Teacher to join our educational team from 2:40 PM to 5:50 PM. This position offers an opportunity to inspire students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through engaging lessons and activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching children, strong classroom management skills, and experience working with students of various backgrounds. Prior experience in early childhood education, tutoring, or childcare is highly valued. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Duties
- Deliver engaging STEM lessons aligned with curriculum standards to students during afternoon sessions
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and productive learning environment
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate interest in science and technology
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support individual learning needs
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to plan activities and enhance program quality
- Maintain organized lesson plans and classroom materials for each session
- Support students’ social-emotional development through positive guidance and encouragement
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare programs
- Strong classroom management skills and behavior management techniques
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to engage students through creative teaching methods in STEM subjects
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification before start date
- Experience with special education needs or behavior management strategies is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
- Prior experience in theater, sports coaching, babysitting, or Christian counseling is beneficial but not required
- Passion for inspiring young learners and fostering a love of STEM fields
