Job Description

The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, MD has an opening beginning with the 2026/2027 school year for a Full-Time Occupational Therapist. The Katherine Thomas School is a private, non-profit special education school that services students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities, and autism that serves students in grades K - 8. KTS offers smaller caseloads than many other programs. EOE

Salary range for 10-months is $65,500 - $68,500, DOE

Responsibilities Of The Occupational Therapist

• Evaluate and provide individual and group therapy as well as classroom integrative services
• Work closely with the educational team to provide comprehensive services to students on their caseload
• Prepare accurate and timely documentation and report progress of students
• Participate in school and departmental staff meetings
  
  

Required Experience

Requirements for the Occupational Therapist:

• Masters from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association
• Eligibility for Maryland licensure must be established prior to employment
• Two to three years of pediatric and school experience is preferred
• Assistive technology experience a plus
• Ability to determine the need for an occupational therapy evaluation
• Ability to develop occupationally based intervention plans
