Responsibilities of the Lead Community Support Specialist:
- Provide job development, job placement and job coaching to individuals served
- Provide support services to assigned individuals in the Individual Support Services program, the Community Development Service and the Personal Supports programs
- Provide support to Case Managers
- Facilitate the progress of a person's targeted goals and work behaviors utilizing lesson plans and teaching methods
Hourly rate is $24/hour - $30/hour, depending on experience and education
Experience and Skills:
Requirements of the Lead Community Support Specialist:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field required, direct work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities may be substituted for educational requirements
- Experience working with individuals with brain injury, neurological impairments, and developmental disabilities preferred
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record and have a car
- Computer literacy is required
- Must have ability to demonstrate and apply knowledge about disabilities, including disability and privacy laws
- Ability to communicate effectively with consumers and staff, exhibit effective customer service skills, promote consumer self-advocacy skills and counseling skills
- Ability to provide well-written and comprehensive documentation
- Must be highly organized, able to demonstrate effective time management skills
- Must be able to work with a team and support team members
