What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Caregiver position at TLC Humane Society?
The Animal Caregiver position at TLC Humane Society is responsible for all daily activities such as feeding the animals, cleaning all areas, providing medicine and vaccinations, examining animal well-being and daily health conditions, evaluating and approving adoptions, animal intake assessments, supervising community service and volunteers, serving visitors to the shelter, and more.
This position requires someone who can work with little supervision and is self-motivated. Our caregiver must have their own means of transportation for getting to the shelter and have the ability to transport animals to the vet. Daily care of all animals is dependent on the reliability of the person who fills this position. You must be able to handle lots of physical work that comes along with cleaning and taking care of animals. This is a demanding position and you will be on your feet most of the day.
HOURS:
We are looking for someone to work 32 hours per week. The hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and right now we need someone to work 4 days a week (including at least 1 weekend day, preferably Sundays). Open availability is ideal for the flexibility to fill in for the other caregivers, so please send us your availability. Someone with animal experience is great but we are willing to train the right person who will work hard for the animals of TLC.
