Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to assist in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or managing chronic conditions. You will play a crucial role in helping patients regain mobility, strength, and independence in various settings including home health, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and document changes in their condition.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercises.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with the healthcare team.
- Work with diverse populations including geriatrics and patients requiring acute care.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or related field from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in home health, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient settings, or outpatient clinics is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
