Field Service Engineer

Position Title: Field Service Technician

Reports To: Regional Service Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay: $100-110K plus all expenses and benefits.

Accountability

Install and repair machines tooling equipment and accessories at customer sites. Provide technical information on the operation or repair of machines and accessories.

Scope and Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Proactively attain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Install machines and accessories at customer sites, which includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning, adjusting, calibrating, and wiring.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software problems on machines and accessories at customer sites.
• Test the operation of machines and accessories after completing an installation or repair.
• Train customers on the functions of the machines.
• Learn new machine features and accessories as they become available.
• Complete reports documenting installations, assessments of reported problems, repairs completed, and parts installed.
• Utilize various test equipment for troubleshooting purposes (e.g., indicators, test bars, clamp force, gages, etc.).
• Travel is required: Assignments will require overnight or multiple-night stays.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma.
• 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical, or machine tool assembly.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in Field Service.

Skills & Requirements

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Ability to understand PLCs and HYD/Pneumatic circuits.
• General computer skills.
• Sound writing and reporting skills.
• Strong people skills and the ability to work independently or in a group setting.
• Strong problem-solving abilities adaptable to various situations.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive, daily basis; ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs on a periodic basis.
