Position Summary
The Memory Care Activity Assistant is responsible for supporting the emotional, physical, and social well-being of residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This role focuses on creating and facilitating life-enriching activities tailored to residents’ cognitive abilities while providing compassionate assistance during mealtimes and daily routines.
Key Responsibilities

Activity Programming:
- Plan and lead engaging, meaningful activities that promote cognitive stimulation, social interaction, and physical wellness.
- Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of residents with memory impairment.

Resident Support:
- Assist residents during meal times, ensuring a safe and dignified dining experience.
- Provide encouragement and hands-on support with daily living activities as needed.

Specialized Care:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related conditions.
- Apply person-centered care principles to foster a positive, supportive environment.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Memory Care Director and care team to implement individualized care plans.
- Communicate observations and changes in resident behavior promptly to appropriate staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in dementia care preferred.
- Experience working with seniors or in a memory care setting strongly desired.
- Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to resident engagement.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule. 10 AM - 6 PM or 11 AM - 7 PM shift.
Salary : $17 - $21
