The Plantation at Leesburg, a 2500 homes community, is looking for a full-time Activities Coordinator to join the Lifestyle Activities Team!
As a Lifestyle Activities Coordinator, you will play an important role as you are an integral point of contact with residents. You would be responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and promoting events and activities for groups and clubs for an Active Adult Community.
You will spend your day interacting with residents in various capacities from room set-ups to scheduling activities and even casual conversations. Each Lifestyle Activities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of one of our three Activity Halls. You will work with the Lifestyle Activities Team to help run both community and location-specific events. In addition, you will support the Administration Team on special projects and coverage.
The ideal candidate is both organized and creative and will use their skills in the Plantation’s continuing effort to provide outstanding guest service and help residents have an enjoyable experience year-round!
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the creation, advertising, and overall collaboration of the monthly newsletter and website.
- Ensure that all scheduled activities and events are up to date using Live calendar updates.
- Create signage & handouts needed to direct residents, caution residents, and inform residents of important information and forms & collateral to help with the structure of events and activities.
- Meet with committees, clubs, groups, activity classes, residents, non-residents, vendors, businesses, originations, government and utility officials, Board members, and any person or entity who would like to schedule, utilize, or rent an activity space.
- Manage all aspects of events from scheduling, pre-planning with the host, ticket sales, promotions, and other event-specific tasks.
- Assist on the day of the event with equipment prep, table and chair set up, vendor and talent coordination, and breakdown of the event.
- Help to coordinate special events outside the scope of committees, clubs, groups, and classes. Activities such as community garage sales, blood drives, shred events, flu shots, health fairs, walk-a-thons, and local & state elections.
- Welcome and greet residents and their guests, answer telephones and relay messages and respond promptly to email communications.
- Perform other general duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Positive, Friendly, and Helpful Attitude is necessary to excel in this position
- Professional Communication with Residents, Vendors, and Management is required
- Ability to remain neutral in handling challenging and confidential matters
- Team player with the ability to work independently requiring minimal supervision
- Preferred minimum 2 years of Computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs, Operating Systems & Creative Programs)
- Preferred 1 year events or activities experience
- Preferred 1 year Client Services & Customer Support
- Notary certification (a Plus)
- Ability to occasionally lift/carry approximately 30lbs or more
Schedule & Benefits: Full-Time, primarily Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Flexibility is required for occasional events/activities outside of office hours. Full-Time employees are eligible for a benefits package.
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour (DOE)
