Position Summary
The Medication Technician (Med Tech) is responsible for safely administering medications while also assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs). Med Techs at Spring Haven Senior Living are also required to fulfill Resident Aide duties, providing hands‑on care, support, and supervision to ensure resident safety, comfort, and dignity.

- 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
- 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
Weekend Coverage Needed:
- We are also seeking team members available to work both shifts on weekends:
- 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
- 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
PLEASE NOTE:
- All full‑time employees are required to rotate weekends as part of their regular schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Medication Administration
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and facility policies
- Properly document medication administration and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff
- Observe residents for medication side effects and report concerns promptly
- Ensure medications are stored, handled, and disposed of safely
Resident Aide / Direct Care Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Provide assistance with meals, hydration, and feeding as needed
- Respond promptly and compassionately to resident call lights and requests
- Perform routine safety checks and report hazards or concerns
- Support residents emotionally and socially while maintaining dignity and respect
General Responsibilities
- Follow all HIPAA, safety, and infection control guidelines
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members
- Assist with basic housekeeping and cleanliness of resident areas as required
- Participate in training, staff meetings, and continuing education
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Current Medication Technician certification (as required by the State of Florida)
- Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long‑term care preferred
- Ability and willingness to perform Resident Aide duties in addition to medication administration
- Knowledge of resident rights, confidentiality, and infection control practices
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Compassionate, patient, and team‑oriented attitude
- Must pass background screening and drug testing per state requirements
