Plumbing and HVAC Helper/Apprentice

TJ’s Plumbing & Heating is seeking dedicated a Plumbing and HVAC Helper/Apprentice to join our team. This role involves assisting the Plumbers and HVAC Technicians on plumbing, furnace, and air conditioner installations and services, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards. The Helper/Apprentice will be responsible for both residential and commercial projects, providing exceptional service while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist plumbing or HVAC technicians in on demand tasks to complete installation or maintenance objectives.
• Complete preventive maintenance of systems and maintenance services as directed.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks.
• Knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations, guidelines, safety orders, departmental operating procedures and safety regulations sufficient to ensure that work is performed in compliance with applicable law.
• Follow safety rules/procedures; avoid known hazards in the work environment.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various tools and equipment safely.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations related to plumbing tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to function in a high paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.

Physical Requirements

• Able to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, climb ladders use hands to finger, handle or fell and reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel for periods of time.
• Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
