Systems Engineer V (Onsite Team Lead)

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Required)

Location: Fort Meade, MD (on site)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer V to serve as an onsite team lead supporting enterprise mission needs. This individual will lead the development, integration, and maintenance of complex business, systems, and information processes, while defining and enforcing IT architecture standards across the organization.

This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and leadership experience in high-security environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the onsite team lead, providing technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to engineering teams
• Lead the development, integration, and maintenance of enterprise-level systems and business processes
• Define and establish IT rules, standards, and requirements aligned with organizational mission objectives
• Develop and maintain baseline and target architectures to guide system evolution
• Ensure alignment of systems engineering activities with enterprise architecture and mission priorities
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify requirements, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Oversee system lifecycle activities including design, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards in a highly classified environment
• Provide strategic guidance on emerging technologies and modernization efforts
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Top Secret / SCI clearance with CI Poly — required
• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or related field):
• Information Technology
• Cybersecurity
• Computer Science
• Data Science
• Software Engineering
• 15 years of related experience in systems engineering, IT, or mission systems support
• 19 years of directly related experience in systems engineering, enterprise systems, or similar disciplines
• Proven experience in leading technical teams in an onsite capacity
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and system design principles
• Experience developing IT policies, standards, and architectural requirements
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related technical discipline
• Experience supporting federal or intelligence community (IC) programs
• Familiarity with frameworks such as DoDAF, TOGAF, or similar architecture models
• Certifications such as INCOSE CSEP, CISSP, or PMP
• Experience with cloud, data architecture, or cyber systems integration
