The Care Connection Specialist maintains confidentiality and complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Essential Functions
- Appropriately screens calls to ensure patients are scheduled correctly and according to scheduling protocol.
- Maintains professional telephone etiquette when screening calls.
- Repeats provider’s name, date, time, and location of appointment before completing call.
- Receives permission from caller prior to placing calls on hold.
- Uses good judgment when answering inquiries or relaying appropriate information.
- Recognizes when to direct call to provider or another service.
- Demonstrates ability to function independently.
- Maintains flexibility and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintains attendance to support required quality and quantity of work.
- Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
- Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
- Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- One year of medical office experience preferred.
- One year of experience in patient scheduling preferred.
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
