Titans Law is a modern, AI-supported law firm with a nationwide presence. We're seeking an experienced Missouri employment litigation attorney in the Kansas City area to independently manage employment-related litigation matters from beginning to end.
This opportunity is particularly well-suited for solo practitioners and small-firm attorneys looking to supplement their existing practice with additional hourly work while maintaining their independence.
You choose the cases you accept. You are not required to take cases you don't want.
The Opportunity
Titans provides access to client matters, advanced legal technology, AI-supported workflows, and optional administrative support. You bring the litigation experience, professional judgment, and commitment to your clients.
Attorneys may continue operating their own practices while accepting matters through Titans, subject to conflicts and applicable professional obligations.
Responsibilities include:
- Independently managing employment litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution.
- Handling employment discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage-and-hour, and related workplace disputes within your experience.
- Developing litigation strategies and managing client relationships.
- Drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Conducting depositions, negotiating settlements, and attending mediations.
- Representing clients at hearings and trials.
- Managing deadlines, court requirements, and client communications.
- Using Titans' AI-supported case-management and litigation technology.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking independent, tech-savvy litigators who can take ownership of their cases without constant supervision.
Required qualifications:
- Active Missouri law license in good standing.
- Employment litigation experience.
- Experience independently managing contested litigation matters.
- Ability to attend court proceedings, depositions, and mediations in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
- Strong litigation, negotiation, and client communication skills.
- Comfort with modern legal technology and AI-assisted workflows.
Preferred qualifications:
- Five or more years of litigation experience.
- Experience representing employees or employers in employment disputes.
- Federal court litigation experience, including the Western District of Missouri.
- Experience with EEOC proceedings and employment-related administrative claims.
- Existing solo or small-firm practice.
- Trial experience.
This Is a Litigation Position — Not a Research Position
We're looking for attorneys who want to take cases, develop strategy, maintain client relationships, conduct discovery, appear in court, and fight for their clients.
This is not a document review, research-only, paralegal, or litigation support position.
We want attorneys who enjoy practicing law and are comfortable taking responsibility for the matters they accept.
Compensation & Flexibility
- Hourly Rate: $75–$100, depending on experience.
- Engagement: Part-time independent contractor, subject to applicable law.
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Schedule: Flexible, based on accepted matters and litigation requirements.
- Work Arrangement: Remote-first, with in-person court appearances and proceedings as needed.
- Case Selection: Accept matters based on your availability, experience, and interests.
- Support: Optional access to Titans' administrative resources and AI-supported legal technology.
- Ongoing Work: Opportunities for additional assignments as matters become available.
