Low-Voltage Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Low-Voltage Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of various low-voltage systems, with a primary focus on access control, CCTV, and structured cabling. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CAT6 infrastructure and a strong understanding of security camera deployment.
Key Responsibilities
* Access Control: Install Lenel panels, program, and troubleshoot access control hardware, including, card readers, electric strikes, maglocks, and request-to-exit devices.
* CCTV & Surveillance: Mount, aim, and configure IP-based security cameras. Perform system testing to ensure proper coverage and video quality.
* Cabling: Install, terminate, and test CAT6 cabling for data and security networks. Maintain organized cable management in racks and enclosures.
* Infrastructure: Assist with the installation of conduit, cable trays, and mounting hardware for low-voltage devices.
* Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, signal interference, and hardware failures.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cable runs, device locations, and system configurations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Low-Voltage Technician or in a similar field.
* Strong technical knowledge of access control systems and IP CCTV camera installation.
* Proficiency in terminating and testing CAT6 cable (RJ45, patch panels).
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
* Comfortable working on ladders and in various environments (construction sites, commercial offices, etc.).
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with industry-standard security software platforms.
* Knowledge of low-voltage building codes and safety standards.
* Experience with fiber optic termination is a plus.
Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
