Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication, security, and data systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients’ infrastructure. Duties

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, access control, fiber optic cabling, VoIP telephony, Ethernet networks, and data centers.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete system installations and repairs.
  • Conduct fiber splicing and cabling work using power tools and hand tools to ensure high-quality connections.
  • Perform network installation tasks involving Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, LAN setups, and computer networking components.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and power tools; repair or replace faulty equipment as needed.
  • Provide field service support by responding promptly to on-site client requests for system troubleshooting or upgrades.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including system configurations, test results, and service reports.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and safety protocols during all installation and maintenance activities.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a service technician or low voltage technician working with telecommunication systems, data centers, or electrical infrastructure.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CCTV systems, fiber splicing techniques, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and telephony systems such as Avaya or VoIP solutions.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware setup and network equipment including Cisco routers and Juniper devices.
  • Strong understanding of schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes related to low voltage installations.
  • Prior experience in customer service roles demonstrating effective communication skills with clients during field service visits.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and efficiently in various environments.

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
